Wheels are the most important thing aesthetically on a car, why buy wheels that simulate the 'look' of badass wheels but are obviously fake, sit half a foot inside your fender, don't allow you to run a wide tire, and are not as strong (not that big a deal but true!)?
Save up, there are deals to be had out there...also the number of options for 'cheap' seems to be increasing...
My suggestion, buy used nice wheels...
except the price difference between Walmart jeans and Abercrombie Jeans is about $30 while the difference between Rota's and Spoon/Work/Volk etc... is like $800. Most Rota's are NOT "obviously fake." I've got buddies who rock Slipstreams and buddies who rock Spoon SW's and NOBODY can tell the difference. Also, your arguement about offset/width is the same reason why not that many folks on here run Rota's. Which is why the thread starter here is looking into getting Rota's made in PROPER offset and size.

if those "NOBODIES" cant tell a difference, then they dont know what they are looking for. Or they just dont care enough, good for them.

thats just me, im very picky about wheels, and theres an obvious difference between the Rota's and the Spoon's.....

Ugh... to tell the difference, you have to look at the back of the rim. On a car, you can't tell unless you were get down right next to the wheel and inspect it, which obviously nobody does.

Rota Slips

Spoon SW

Slips are $400, Spoons are $1800. Anyone with common sense would rather buy the Slips and spend the saved $1400 on something else for their car. They might not be able to say their wheels were made in Russia, but they will be $1400 richer and have wheels that look exactly the same.
