Hey guys,
Well today I started this project with a few buddies and we basically have the old open diff off, just have to take off the 2 19mm bolts in the back towards the rear end (already losened) My question is I seems like one of the side bushings are missing on the j30 lsd... I'll try and put up a pic if I can figure it out. The thing is I would have noticed it earlier but i bought the thing in the beginning of the summer and never had time to get around to it because I was going off to my first year of college. Anyhoo if anyone can give any pointer or what to do about this bushing or any suggestions overall, that would be wonderful Thanks, Scott |

Use your existing S14 bushings, they're the same.

Okay now someone is tell me I have to swap the LSD covers. From what I read/found out I thought if you are installing on a s14, the j30 lsd you don't need to swap the covers...If I do need to swap the covers whats the signs that I do? Like it won't fit when I try to put it in?

I have an s14, I don't need to do any modification. I just want to know how to get the stock bushing off and onto the j30 lsd. That is the only issue. The 95-96 j30 lsd's have the 6 bolts on the output shafts

Look up a post I made. I had the same issues when I got the J30 VLSD.
It was missing a bushing also. Since I had an S13, my open diff didn't have any bushings. I ended up buying an ES Kit online for about $30. Included 2 of those bushings and another 2 for the subframe. I have part #'s in my other post. I think I tried calling Infiniti/Nissan for the bushing but they wanted $30 alone... so it was much more cost efficient to buy a bushing kit. -Aaron '91 240sx coupe |

They fall out when you drop the diff. There's actually an upper washer above the bushing, and a washer below. Just use all the parts off your old diff to replace what's missing, it's all the same.

I did this when I installed my J30 VLSD on my S14. I used the Energy Suspension 300ZX rear differential bushings, (I think the part # is 7-1108??), as replacements for the old J30 bushings. The Energy Suspension bushings work just fine. You shouldn't have any problems installing the VLSD, everything bolts right up. Just be careful that your driveshaft doesn't rub up against the exhaust resonator. Mine does...those Nismo exhaust hanger bushings sure pull your exhaust tight against the car frame. My N1 dual resonator scraped a line on the drive shaft on mine. Gonna have to crawl underneath the car again & see how the driveshaft is making out. ID '95 SE with J30 VLSD
