hood latch

Hey guys just another noob question to bother you guys with. The latch on my hood doesnt seem to want to lock it in all the way. Is it broken or does it just need an adjustment. If whatever how did you go about fixing it?

Hmm, soon after I crashed (one of the many) in the mountains, my hood latch started to act up. I managed to pop open the hood and adjust it and lube it (lethium greese) all without a Flashlight-- so specifics elude me, but i do recall adjusting so it would slide and lock, I used a screwdriver as a mock up. All your eally need to do is allow it to engage so perhaps cleaning it and removing any debri that is on the hinge itself, I believe the FSM has a step by step procedure that clarified it rather well, give that try... I think its in the BF section.

you can also adjust the hood latch. there are 2 sets of bolts iirc, which you can play with that are under the latch.

Yep, a little adjustment is allowed. I ended up cutting my stock hoodlatch out and installing hoodpins, mainly for weight and more cooling. I can understand not wanting to do that if you're around a lot of theft though.
