KA Exhaust????

I was thinking about getting the 2 3/4in exhaust but i am afraid the car would should like crap. will it be ok or should i get a 2 and 1/2. i might get a turbo in a year or so so im not sure what to put. someone said a 2 and 1/2 could run a turbo but it wouldnt be as good. but i need an exhaust because i need some hp gains for the time being until i get the turbo. i am goin to get the intake and adapter or get a cheap intake tube off ebay and get a k and n filter for it. still not sure what do u think i should do ?

1. buy 2.5" universal muffler
2. 2.5" piping at any muffler shop
3. go turbo, dump your 2.5"
4. buy 3" universal muffler or exhaust system

i disagree...

buy 3 inch exhaust now, a lot of people say n/a + 3 inch exhaust will make it run like shit, but my friend Jake is running 3 inch on a ka24de, and it runs perfectly fine... even gained hp at higher rpms.. so dont waste ur money on crappy exhaust.. go best the first time....

OR

just wait! whats wrong with stock exhaust if you have a stock motor? Most you'll get is around 5hp for a 2.5inch exhaust on n/a... not worth the money imo. just save up ur money, find out what you want... do your research.. get ur turbo.. then get ur 3 inch exhaust...

just my two cents..

ALL 3 inch piping On N/A is gonna do versus 2.5 is be LOUDER> its gonna give u MORE GAINS or just AS MUCH. that myth about backpresure shouldnt be breathed towards 2.5 liters. what the hell!

KA

but as far as headers goes should i still get them or leave the stock exhaust manifold on the car. also im not goin to get a turbo for a while because my dad wont let me swap out the engine and it costs 2 much to turbo a ka unless someone has a better price than what i got. i was thinking about obx headers or pacesetter. but the only diff i see between them is the name. and they make 2 and 3/4 in pipes should i got wit that or jus str8 3 in? im getting it done at a muffler shop near my shop. and i cant leave the motor stock because i have a full kit on the car already and it doesnt look right if there is no exhaust.

It's been proven that a 3" exhaust makes a lot more power then a 2.5" does. However, with the larger piping comes a lot more noise. Granted some quality exhausts out there have a decent sound despite being 3", it's still goign to be significantly louder then a 2.5"

Given this, I'm still sticking with a 2.5" HKS Hi-Power exhaust when i'm ready.

search the forums.

http://www.nissanperformancemag.com/april04/240sx/

if you search you can find alex chang's posts (mav1178)

he documented a lot of his power mods for KA, header, etc.

just get a 2.5 now like i said, your butt dyno will thank you.

stock exhaust is so boring and junk....not to mention it probably has more holes than swiss cheese by now.

just get 3" now, or keep stocker until you turbo.

search around for exhaust clips, some 3" on n/a ka24 sounds fine.
