KA Looking for Gasket kit to rebuild ka24e + helpful suggestions plz!

Where can I buy a relatively cheap gasket kit for SOHC KA. I bought a shell w/ a "broken" ka24e. I didn't get to start it cuz the harness was all out but the origional owner said it made a low knocking noice and that it was burning oil. I'm thinking it was maybe like, piston slap or soemthing, so I bought another motor off an automatic SOHC. and so far, i opened up both valve covers, and checked the valve train, both look good, but the first SOHC has silver valvetrain, while the "new" auto SOHC had brown/bronze valvetrain.

Im thinking, which head should I use? bronze or silver head.

Also, so anyways, I remember using the search to find some gasket kit, and came across one called like, roar, or rage, or something w/ a R. it was a red box and came w/ a bunch of gaskets and a graphite head gasket for like around $150, can't find it anymore. Help

And also, do you think it's necessary to mill the head to change head gaskets? And when I was reading the chilton's manual, they didn't say anything about using new headbolts. But I think I might change them out anyways... so, anyone recommend best bang for the buck headbolts/studs?
I think I saw some for $60, they might of been ARP, not sure.

Also, do you know if a "rebuild kit" or "gasket kit" comes w/ new piston rings?

REmember, this is all for a SOHC KA. And I don't want to spend over like $200 to rebuild the motor.

I also bought some FELPRO gaskets, like, oilpan gasket, exhaust gasket, and rear main seal for like... $40-$50. Should I return those? Because hopefully it'll be included in the rebuild kit right?

So anyways. Yeah, list some rebuild kits or gasket kits or whatever. And other helpful advice or things I should do while the motor is out.

Thanks a bunch

if you're going to rebuild that motor, do it right. Or don't do it at all. A gasket kit will run you almost 200 and resurfacing the head (highly recommended) will run you 40 something already. Then you have to put into consideration, gasket maker, fluids, new hoses, belts, clamps, etc.

Skimp out on things and you'll regret it later.

I just want to be able to pass smogthe legal way, as well as maybe rebuild the motor so it'll last me a long time..

I just thought of another thing. What about the timing chain? Do I replace the whole chain? or do I just change the guides or wassup I think that site had chains too, fuck, what is that site!

do a search for World Pac. I bought a complete chain kit from them awhile ago. Forgot what price was exactly, but I got new cam gears, tensioners, guides, bolts, and little things I wasn't expecting to get.

Rebuild the engine the right way or not at all. I suggest going OEM for gaskets and espesially for valve seals. OEM engines don't seem to burn oil due to the valve guide.

Before resurfacing the cylinder head check to see if your cam bore is straight, if it isn't then you will have to straighten the head otherwise resurfacing is a waste of time cause it accomplishes nothing...
