so i couldnt decide between the 95+ 240sx and the 180sx so im goin to get them both hopefully... ok 180sx i want to do a S15 conversion i know i need the hood, fenders, lights, and bumper however its been pricy or at least what i found.. headlights they wants $995 for projectors (is that around the right price?) the s15 hood i havent located a OEM carbon one yet or even a FBS one. Importfan.com offeres the conversion fenders for $800 and the bumper i was thinking about this TRIAL one: http://www.takakaira.com/aerokits/trial/silvias15.jpg

yo man, i did some research and found that inportfan sells the OE Carbon Hood for 600.  they also sell the whole conversion with the carbon hood, lights, core support, fiberglass fenders and some bumper(it says the style is To Be Anounced)  all of that for 3k.  I think thats cheaper than buying it all separate.  Hope that helps.

Would it be hard to install the conversion yourself?

Nah, not really, bolt on the headlamp using brackets and shit, wire 'em up (that'll take a while), bolt up the core support, bumper, and hood. That's a good 6-7 hours (give or take) worth of work.

$4k complete, they also have an 180sx for $1200 complete. RB's, CA's, installs are cheap too.

why not go to an engine or parts instead of the conversion...I've asked myself that as well and i dont really dont know maybe the fact im goin to be 17 and im getting the 180sx as a b-day gift and the conversion is goin to be done on a loan ( a loan i can handle and pay off with my current job) ok i know i could have a red top swapped in for around $4500 total from U-H. but the necessity of "go" for me right now isnt that high i know your all thinking hes goin to rice it out awww but im not i can assure you. but part by part its goin to build the complete thing its just a matter of what part first and right now i think the conversion is what i want however for those in doubt my future plans are an engine swap of course, im not to sure on the red top though perhaps a black top S14 &nbsp;but then again most "strawberry face" sx' have the SR20DET so this morning i was starting to think about an RB to set it aside. mind you in a month ill be 17 and i can only do so much with my income at the time. I hope no one gets the wrong idea about this conversion and my personal ..goals here (show and no go ) cuz its not that way plus right now the cops here are coming down hard on us for street racing ( empty roads out in the middle of no where or close to it with no one around and its very well organized for saftely first and i know theres goin to be those who say &nbsp;if you want safe go to the track .theres not one around the nearest is about an hour and a half and is only open for our kinda deals one night ( wed) ) so i dont think a faster car would be a god idea at the time anyways &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'>

Yes i too have often questioned the Conversion.... when it boils down to it.... pretty much your paying 4k for looks.... when we would be stupid to do that right now..... get you KA turboed or get a SR... &nbsp;think of it like this..... swap or turbo, you got something to show for it.... conversion you just got show.... Would you rather not have crushing HP then fiberglass looks?
Just My Opinion!

syndicate one: you say you dont want the swapbecause of cops right? well guess what getting a conversion and other look enhancing items wont help! cops will look at you even more. if you really wanna stay away from them put something into the engine and keep the exterior stock but CLEAN. and believe me its the greatest feeling when people underestimate you and you just blow them away!

no i dont want the swap not because of cops ive been lucky ive manage to get out of my tickets and avoid the swarms when they came but my main reason for not getting the swap first is at the moment i dont feel i need the overwhelming 250+ hp from the SR &nbsp;i know it would crush or do more to 99% of the cars around &nbsp;my area and then some but i personally dont think im ready for that much HP ya know im actually kinda scared of it due to not so much my lack of driving skills but the time tht i have been (been driving 8 months ) drivign skills though i go out to parking lots and test me and my car like every night but having 250+ (black top S14) &nbsp;i would be too tempted with it to push its limits ya know i personally dont think im up for the responsibility of it (the &nbsp;bone crushing HP ) ya know its like having a kid who JUST got his liscense and handing im the keys to a Skyline R34 youll be lucky if it comes back in one piece and works. &nbsp;but hopefully im shooting for this fall or next spring for the swap

If you want the conversion go for it. Alot of people are into the "no show all go" thing. Personally I want both and I wouldn't be happy driving around in a POS looking car just because I had a turbo in it. Like has been said many times before in the "rice " posts, do what you want to do.
And to everyone else, stop trying to discourage people from doing what they want. He didn't say he was gonna "rice it out" or anything, he just wants a conversion to set it apart from all of the other 240's. Not trying to be a jerk or single anyone out, I just wanted to throw in my $.02.

You can get a set of s15 lights for under $900 sometimes as low as $500 I think. There always on ebay.

ok, put it this way. i actually went to my closest nissan parts dealer(actually in Japan) and the price of the headlights were around 35,000yen a piece. depending on the yen rate, that could be 350 bucks or right now it's like 270. and that's for brand new parts.....and also, 250hp is not all that much hp
