Can I rant about my boss?

My boss has got to be the rudest person I have ever met in my entire life. I woke up this morning feeling like shit. I've been sick the past few days, but it didn't hit me too hard until this morning. I stopped at a gas station on my way to work and started throwing up in their restroom. I swear, I did that for 10 mins. I decided I didn't want to goto work feeling like that for 11 hours today. I called in. He told me I had to come to work, pretty much because he was too lazy to call the other cashier in.

My boyfriend got pissed, called my boss and told him I was staying home. My manager hung the phone up on my boyfriend after that. My manager then calls me back and tells me to goto the doctor. Ok, right. I just moved here, I don't even know where the doctors are. Oh, and did I mention I only have $8 to my name and my insurance is in WISCONSIN?! Then my manager told me that doctors are free. Idiot. He told me all I had to do was tell the doctors I had no money and they would see me for free. Hahahaha ok, that's the funniest thing I've heard in a long time.

that's not as bad as the story my friend told me about walmart. some cashier got in a wreck, totalled his car and everything. then called in to work to say he'd been in a wreck and that's why he's not at work. then his boss asked, "so when will you be in?"

not "omg are you okay?"

I've been really lucky, I've only had one boss that I couldn't stand, and it was a job I neither needed, nor cared about, so quitting (read as: coming in 3 hrs late specifically for the purpose of telling off the boss) was LOTS of fun

My current boss is the greatest boss EVAR!
I've never had a job before this one where I was told, "yeah, so you're pretty much project based, so as long as you're getting your work done, you can come and go as you please.... btw i'm not exactly sure what you do of what tasks you have to do, but that's why we hired you, so just do a good job".

Don't worry about the crappy bosses. If you're cashiering, that's a trade taht's easily transferred to a job that will have some measure of respect for you, something you're obviously not getting from your current one.

All I do is sit at a car wash/detail shop and cashier for eleven hours a day. I would have gone in if the bathroom was right next to the register, but it wasn't. I was thinking about going in and throwing up on him.. but that would have been a waste of gas. I work at two different stores though. The one I work at on the weekends, my boss is awesome. This boss at the one I work at on Monday-Wednesday is a real cocky son of a bitch. He called me stupid yesterday because he messed everything up, so he just blamed it all on me and verbally abused me.

He acts like he's some rich ass too.. yet he drives around this old beat up, rusted out, shit color brown, Ford Van. And he lives in a motel. I'm starting to wonder if the cashiers get paid better than management.

i agree that ure boss is an asshole, but was there any way you could have called someone to at least cover your shift? not to sound like an ass here, it may be that u dont have other co workers phone numbers. but in that case you could have also asked your boss for someones phone number to get your shift covered. just a thought...

No, we only have two cashiers at my store, me and the other Jessica. Nobody has anyone elses phone number at work. At my job, it's the managers job to call someone else in. Not the employees. It's even in the handbook, seriously. My boss was too busy screaming at me and telling me to goto the doctor because they're "free" and I don't have to pay anything.

I'm sick again today. My boyfriend called in for me and my manager at the one store (the asshole) said I was fired for being sick.

But, I work at two other stores and I called my weekend manager at the otehr store and he's pissed at the manager that fired me. So, I have to go talk to the good manager on Friday and get everything situated. I'll end up getting it all straightend out. But, this is just bullshit that you aren't even allowed to get sick in America these days. They should just give me the death penalty for it, I suppose.

My boyfriend called told that manager that he was a fucking asshole and hung the phone up on him though, if that counts for anything.

you shouldn't have your boyfriend call your employers for you... unless your under 18 and hes ur legal guardian or something. if you felt bad you should have gone anyways and cover till the other cashier got in. if this a major chain store which i doubt you can call the corporate office and file a complaint on ur boss but if its a private owned business ur SOL and just look for another job..

Actually, I was unable to call my boss when I'm wrapped around the toilet throwing up. I called him yesterday and he wouldn't listen to me, so my boyfriend called him. Oh well, sorry for having someone who cares about you. I don't mind it.

I got a new job today anyway. All I do is call people and make $14/hr. Yay for that.
