things to do after coilover install.
I installed two front pairs of the megan coilovers.
I installed these with ride height set at the factory so I have to change the ride height. I'm just driving waiting for springs to settle down. To rear ones settled down already but front ones seems to need more time even after 70 miles on them. How do I change the ride height of these coilovers? There are two brackets right under spring and one bracket on the base of the strut. I would like to know the process of turning the two bracket holding the spring. Do I need spring compressor for this? What other things do I have to do to mature the coilover spring install? |

no, you don't need a spring compressor.
you need spanner wrenches and your own 2 hands. and you installed 2 front pairs of MR's? wtf? two fronts wouldn't bolt up to the rear uprights. to adjust ride height, loosen the lower locking perch at the shock bracket, then twist the shock body (spring and all) to lower/raise the ride height. "mature the coilover spring install" huh? you need to reword your post or something. search man, search! |

I installed all four over the span of one week due to time shortage. Can I do the steps you told me with the c/o on the car or should I get them off? |

jack up car. take wheels off. get spanner wrenches and twist collar counterclockwise. If there are two collars, then the lower one should go down by hand, then the upper one should turn with the wrench and the spring will turn with it. Count the threads showing from the bottom. Repeat on all 4 corners. Get an alignment. Read more
btw..obviously tighten the lower collar against the upper one..you should have two spanner wrenches that you turn opposite from eachother to tighten/loosen the collars.

Not to sound like a dick but you installed these on your car and your struggling on how to lower them? Just sounds odd, i'm sure if you installed them you can figure it out in like 5 minutes. Drive happy!

Easier to stick the end of a caliper in from the bottom and measure the distance to the bottom of the shock body. Or, even a stick with a line on it for that matter would work. |
