96-98 has an intank fuel temperature sensor, part of the EVAP system. You don't need it. Use your 95 stuff, or just cut and rewire the plugs.
The sending unit is a pain to get out, just keep pulling on it. Enough force will pop it loose.

OK, thank you very much. Another dumb question, which way do I pull on the sending unit? I know its a dumb question, but I cant for the life of me get the damn thing out. So from the back seat looking back, with your hand in the tank, pull up or to the right, ...?????
