have any of you guys do a auto to manual conversion. I might be getting another 240 soon but it doesn not run and its auto. I want to put an sr20det in it since i have 92 ka24de already. If i buy a front clip will i just need a 91 240 driveshaft. If the front clip has these parts: clutch pedal assembly, clutch master cylinder, clutch hydraulic piping, slave cylinder, and a manual tranny brake pedal.

looks like you got the basics but you will also need the look at getting a manual diff as well, as they have different final drives you will have a slitely better topend with the Auto diff but at the cost of acceration, but then I don't how strong the auto diff is. But having the rest of it ,ie 91 240 driveshaft. If the front clip has these parts: clutch pedal assembly, clutch master cylinder, clutch hydraulic piping, slave cylinder, and a manual tranny brake pedal. Again look at the lenth on the driveshaft they could slightly different, or think about getting a stronger gearbox, ie SIX speed if you have the money, because then go full hog with the engine, but hey you are doing the right thing and it sound's like you got ya head screwed on right, keep it evil.

excuse me, but here in the states the automatics came with the exact same differential as the manuals . I do not know about Australia, where you are from.
He does not need to change his differential unless he wants to put in VLSD' if his car did not come with it.

Umm. No. The six speed is not and never has been called a "stronger" tranny. There is a reason that drifters in Japan swap their s15 6-speed for a s13 or s14 5-speed. Because they have made the gears narrower in the same bellhousing, and crammed another gear into it.

Now. Im not saying the 6-speed sucks, cuz I have seen many 450+ hp silvias running a 6-speed, but then again, the 5-speed is stronger.
