For the price of a Turbo kit you can have a swap in your car that will run a lot nicer.
The KA24DET route requires fabrication and sometimes it can be hard to find performance parts. Internals are more expensive, harder to find, and the fact is the KA was not designed for boost. I have friends with very nice KA24DET's but for the price and headache IMO it is not worth the outcome.
In Japan they have been building SR's for over a 10 years the knowledge and developement of products for the SR is unmatched in the 240 world.
Don't get me wrong I really liked my KA but I love my SR.
I am going for 400 rwhp at 19psi on Sunday so lets keep our fingers crossed.

they been turboing L series engines since datsuns... ( L series is the... well... dad of the ka... the sohc and dohc ka head bolts right up to some 4 cylinder Lseries small blocks.. the KA is based off the L series)
the sr has its fair share of history as well.... so in "my opinion" i still think there both the same... i just had to add to that....
performance parts are about the same really.... there not hard to find for the ka... i mean a few sources have them but thats all thats really needed... the sr has a bigger following so i guess thats why it may seem that way.... just my opinion....
