s13 240 Shaking Around 40-50mph?

I just purchased my 93 240 and the brakes are fine on the car. But around 40-50 mph the steering wheel will violently shake. I know my fair share about cars and I assume this means that my wheels are out of balanace but im not quite sure. Anyone have this experience? Thanks

1- check tires for bubbles, defects, etc.
2- Check car bushings for excessive wear/etc.
3-Get all wheels/tires spin balanced
4- Get 4-wheel alignment done on car.

Misc: might have damaged wheel, worn ball joints, wheel bearings etc..

try putting the rear wheels on the front and the front on the back. one of your front wheels may be slighty bent causing it to shake.

My '96 did the same thing.....bad tension rod bushings! Get under there and look at the crappy rubber bushings at the end of the rods....make sure they are not dry-rotted or cracked open. Then I'd say alignment and such

Well, Id say it is most likely :
Wheels out of balance, bad tires, or need an alignment.

But could be something else too.

I would shake your hand if you were in Texas, HAHA! Long story short, I went to discount tire after work and he said my front left tire seemed warped, so he asked me to pull it in the bay to take a look with it off. The car was acting up so as I got it started i said forget it and went home. I finished my tuneup and as my seafoam was soaking, I swapped the wheel in question with the back wheel on the same side, and when i pulled it off i saw a 1/2 inch dip in the inside of the wheel. So I swapped the 2 wheels and went for a drive (car starts and runs perfect now), The shaking is gone and I have perfect alignment now! THANKS MAN!
---------------------------
Alignment- $70
New Tires for alignment- $400
Discount tire balancing all 4 tires- $40
Making a post on zilvia and getting a good answer- Priceless!
