ok here's what it is:  whenever the car is cold (bad for 15 sec after start then mellowing out) i hear a strong tapping noise. i don't know what it is and can't get anyone to tell me.  it sounds alot like a diesel would really.  now after a few minutes of warming up it will die down to the point where it is not noticable, but untill that time it is always an unwelcome sound in the background of the regular engin purrr..   MMM MMM GOOD!

also need a place where i could buy a sr20det frontclip. thx

hey man , i have the same problem , if you let the car warm up and then go , it's gone right? , but if you just start and go then it's there until the car is really warm? if thats exactly it , i think someone told me that it had to do with my motor oil and my valves because thats what is making the noise , it's the valves tapping. if you hear different and i'm wrong let me know.
