I am thinking about getting a sr motor...
ROLL EYES NOW BUT PLEASE DO NOT JUST FLAME ME:!:
And well I wanted to know how long do those motors last before you start running into problems or repairs... How hard is it to find parts? Are the parts costly? How many miles do you have on your SR motor?
thanks sorry for another SR post i know people HATE them!

I think you know that mine hasn't broken down yet (I know you know I don't have it yet ), but IMO, it's easier to find certain parts for the SR than it is the KA, it's the basic things that you might have a problem finding, but if you were to buy one, any shop that sells SRs should be able to get all of that stuff for you.

Life of the engine is always determined by how you care for it. If you beat on it 24/7 and never change the oil. The engine WILL get even. And vice versa.. Baby her, and take her out, give nice clean oil all the time, and bathe her.. And she'll love you back. Just remember, sometimes love hurts. lol

There are several parts on the SR that are interchangable with a couple other cars in the US. Like the SR from the SE-R, and injectors from 300zx, etc... A lot of performance parts are easier to get a hold of for the SR than the KA as well. It's stuff like water pumps, etc that are hard to replace when broken.

Parts are really not that hard. Alot of shops besides mine are now stocking replacment parts for the SR's. You can use some stuff off of the USDM Sr but alot of it has to be for the JDM SR.

As for things like starters and stuff.... I know my shop strips down motors and sells off the good parts if the motor dosen't pass our inspection for customer use. Or you can have your starter and alternator rebuild at any good rebuild center.

For the manual you can get one in English. They only have it for the S14 but it will also work for the S13 stuff......

I hope this helps...............
