Thumbs down car wont start

ugh. my 92 240SX started this morning but after i did some errands it wouldn't start up. tried jumping it and it still didnt start. we tried to push start it and it worked, so i guess there was a problem with the starter. we took out the starter and opened it and there was no problem with it. we hooked it up to the battery and it worked fine. so i don't know what the problem is. but i do hear a click sound near the battery when i try to start it. any help would be nice. thanks!

Starter solenoid would be my best guess without looking at the car.

as i said its proably the starter solenoid. make sure you are getting power to the starter(smallest wire going to the solenoid) do taht while someone is turning the key on as if they are trying to start the car.

other thing is turn the key on as if trying to start it and hold it there while somone hits the solenoid with a long pry bar. a lot of times solenoid will make some noise as if trying to actuate or starter my turn.

So that means you took it apart? How much did the brush cost?

c'mon people, if you solve your problem, post it so people can search and find it instead of starting their own threads.
