Getting the top starter bolt off...?

That damn top bolt...jeez...its such a tight fit, I tried using 2 extensions locked together, but it was so loose I couldnt get the wrench to lock enough to turn (not to mention the tight fit).

Whats the trick to removing the top bolt? I also couldnt access it from the top.

You can use numerous things to get that bolt off. I used just a standard socket ratchet. Dont use any extensions, it wont fit. Obviously. But ya.. try using a 1/4 ratchet with a regular bolt to loosen it.. and then slip a open end wrench in there to take it off.. It helps if u have the wrench that has the turning ability. (know what i mean?)

Try that and get back to us

I used a u-joint socket and extension and had no problems. Use name brand socket ie. Snap On, Mac, or Craftsman You will save yourself a headache.

Jack the car up. Link about 4-5 12" extensions together. Fish it in from the trans. It's easy. 5 mins and you will be done.

Yeah about 1.5ft of extention on the side of the tranny, used a 1/2 inch drive ratchet and wooble adapter, had it off in 5min.

Wobble socket and extensions. That's it.
OR
You can pull off the intake mani and reach from up top. It's a clear shot.
