they take your vin to show that a customer wants the part so it is rushed, that's what they told me. I ordered a part that was on backorder and the parts guy asked me for my vin number so it can be rushed. sorry if I'm mistaken, but isn't the radiator made by Calsonic? Those are usually manufactured in Japan right? So the wait is about right.
