Haven't posted in awhile but I am in need of some help. Here is the situation. There is a hissing noise coming from around the middle of the intake runners to the firewall. I can't pinpoint exactly where it's coming from though. When you shut the car off the hissing noise lasts for about 2-3 seconds after the engine stops. What we did find out is that if you stall the car out by pushing up on the egr plunger there is no hissing sound? There is no gas or exhaust smell coming from the bay. If anyone has any input it would be greatly appreciated. The car is a 98 se with auto trannny. There aren't any trouble codes and the car only has a K&N drop in air filter for mods. Please help.
