If you really want stiffer spring rates, consider Tanabe Sevens, they're spring rate is 10/8. They probably won't be much more expensive than a set of silkroads with custom spring rates. However, for daily driving, I would think twice about that high of a spring rate. Just upgrading to coilovers will greatly reduce body roll, and if afterwards you still think there is too much roll, get larger sway bars, which will allow you to reduce roll without hurting ride comfort. As mentioned above, spring rate cannot be changed without swapping out the springs for a different set. Coilovers are damping adjustable.

silk road has springs available on their website and thru any dealer. while u probably cant get different springs ON the coilovers, theyre like 100 a spring i believe and even with that the price comes out to about the same as DG5s. doesnt it?

well put nbrindley, 10/8 spring rate is very rough. your better off keeping the 8/7 that comes on the silk roads and going towards other chassis bracing mods if your concerend about body roll.

just curious have you riden / driven any cars with a 8 /7 spring rate or anything similar? if you havent 8/7 is probly great for the time being.
Ive had silk roads for about a year now and I love them. on my S14 btw. and there is still body roll with my 8/7 but i feel like id be better off getting larger sway bars. well anything in the rear sinc ei HAVE no sway bar , damn base models

heh as a matter of fact yes i have driven and owned a car with apexi n1 pro coilovers, it was on my old car which was a 1997 240sx, highly modified, but i recently got into an accident with it, and i just picked up another 97 240 not too long ago, so im just trying something different right now, so any1 got any input on anything comparible to the apexi n1 pro's? how does the silkroads hold up against the n1's? again thanks for all the input

Doesn't Swift springs make custom springs for every major jdm car? I know they are working on custom springs for a new line of kei office coil-overs but have heard about there spring being put in diff manf coil-overs

Swift makes springs for all types of dampers that use a typical coilover design. all you have to do is be smart enough to figure out the length and diameter of the spring. So it can sit on the perch. BTW 10/8 isn't that stiff. BHs car is awesome sauce sex on the beach.

Spring rate is nothing is the valving isn't done rite. You could have an 8/6 combo and have it valved so it feels stiffer then a 10/8 combo.

The more you know, the better you can make a justified purchase.

Apex'i N1 Pros FTW (the real shit)

Kei Office's sucked ass, my friend had the XT-a model. they blew out and were leaking its juices only after 6 months. silkroads are good, just an average coilover, same as Section stuff.

this thread is useless, you shouldn't be looking at coilovers because you seem to lack basic suspension knowledge. I find it hard to believe that you do track days and you drift yet you have no grasp of very basic knowledge.

Here's some real advice, go do an autocross or trackday or two, do more research about suspension, understand how things work, then come back and ask more relevant and educated questions.

edit: I see you've already owned Apex'i N1s, to which I ask again, why would you even spend money to buy something you obviously don't understand and can't use properly anyway? Oh god, this makes me feel like I'm on honda-tech.

I'm not hating, but it just seems to me if someone can't even seem to grasp basic knowledge about suspension and/or don't care to do so, they probably won't be the ones putting these fancy suspension to work. I believe the suspension is what the driver makes of it, that's just my 2 cents.
