You may find some of these responses a bit abrasive, but most people dont give a fuck about clearing parking blocks or taking speedbumps at speed.
There is a reason that there is a thread on here exclusively to showcase how low your car is.

You could always choose to use your depth perception and park infront of the parking block.

Take a look at some of the pictures on here and see what some people drive on a daily basis.

Frankly, youre not cool if you arent low low and have blangin wheels. So, dont be suprised when the cool kids pick on you because you think you low when youre not.

AHAAHAHA too low to get bumper over parking blocks? Who cares about that? Just park behind them and don't crash into them like a newb driver.

BTW, pharmacy school is for girls and homosexual dudes, not like there's anything wrong with that.

I don't know how people like you read so much into a topic nor assume most on the forums are here for cosmetics.

I was not basing how low I should go with the height of a parking block...I was stating it's a bit hard to believe someone would consider that mild lowering.

I want suspension travel and a car that handles, not something I can go bouncing through taco bell in.

Base pay of around $75k coming out is probably more than you will see in your lifetime. I declined going to Pharm. college since at the time in my early 20's I was making quite a lot of money in the banking business.

I ended up getting CSBS taking a couple years off work when I was about 30.

All this gay talk is sort of ironic with a few of you guys. Almost like a honda forum.

Hmm I guess bottom of the vehicle hitting the ground or tires hitting the top of the fenders works for you.

Do you drive a car?

Newsflash...how about reading the fucking thread?

#1 I skipped out on being a Pharmacist, I would have been making that as one around 23 years old...$75k in 1995 was major bank for even someone my age now. My career at that time allowed be to buy a nice home though so that's all I was concerned worth. My point was becoming a Pharmacist is not a bad career choice. Someone added only homosexuals and women do it...

#2 $75k is great money for anyone to make in certain areas...plus it's substantially more than most make even with combined income. Most people will never have a career where they make a SHIT load of money...to me that is pushing $250k+

#3 I could care less how low I am...that was never the freaking point here...some circle jerks decided to make it that unless your front lip is skimming the ground you don't need RUCA's.

I need RUCA's, the thread was about were SPL the best choice and they are.

I suppose people like me werent responding to you, but to the other people who made it their business to audit your lowness. I guess I should differentiate between the topic at hand and the stuff thats secondary to what you asked about.

oh well.

I go to pains to make sure my car handles well and utilizes as much stroke as is possible. I may have to make other adjustments to compensate for bumpsteer caused by intial lowering, but lowness doesnt automatically mean crappy alignment and worse handling.

P.S. I havent been to taco bell in years.

Newsflash old man willow: With 8.6 springs it takes a little more effort than lowering your car zOMG 1.2628734734352547457 inches to get your car to bottom out.

Go back to jerking yourself off for taking a few classes at the learning annex. You'll show everyone when you make an arbitrary list of 10% of the strut bars availible for S-Chassis.

Leave the man alone. Maybe he can't race? Not everyone is as lucky as those of us who do track our cars. Maybe he doesn't NEED fucking SPL RUCA, but does that mean he's worthy of belittlement and insult to this extreme degree? This is a car forum, and wrenchers need to stick together, not bitchfight over stupid shit like how cool you are because you can turn a spring perch with a spanner until you drag exhaust. Oh, and (as I rather suspect you know) measuring from wheel-well peak to ground before and after lowering is standard practice, so I don't see the horror of his posting the measurements; you don't have to take (or not take) years of pharmacy to operate a tape measure. What's there to get your panties in a twist over?

OP:
Your car's not low, incase you still think it is. Go ahead and get the SPL RUCA, they work like racing adjustable rear upper control arms are designed to work. I suspect you won't break them or surpass their limits, and they'll work fine for you. I suggest you learn how to do a home alignment, and really consider the necessity of purchasing race-spec parts for what appears to be a street-driven vehicle, as they'll only increase NVH to no benefit for your (presumed) daily driving, parking, and joyously bump-free taco bell runs.

You are teh funnay....

Anyway, it's not too hard to bottom out on normal roads...if I wanted a track only car, I'd build another 240 for that.

If you have knowledge of so many more coilovers and exhausts than I have listed on my site (Drifkat.com), how about stepping up and telling us?

Again for the retarded. I never claimed my car was 'slammed'...it low enough to need RUCA's...This is how it sits now. I don't want to be tucked at all...that is too low for the places I drive my DAILY DRIVER too.

Why would I want to learn to do a home alignment? I can take it to a race alignment shop and get better results from someone that does it for a living.

My daily driving is considered spirited. My commute is over a few really good turns and roads. Having my rear end break a loose is not uncommon.

I have been building vehicles now since about 1988.

If the kids here want to be all pissed and stuff so be it. I am just looking for "those that know" advice and I have gotten it.

don't mind these people alkemist, don't take what they say too seriously, what they say is always good for a laugh though. I've become very selective on what I read here on zilvia, there's good info to be taken away, buried amidst all the BS and Viceroy bullying, who, if nothing else, are always there to provide a good laugh.

I think it's funny too...but disturbing at the same time.

I will admit it's been a while since I have been around here.

Anyway...thanks everyone!

if you feel the need to buy some arms, buy them.

it doesn't take much to go out of stock adjustment range. your car certainly doesn't have to be low.

i previously lowered my car very moderately and took it in for an alignment. the shop could not zero out toe in the rear; they maxed at roughly .5 degree toe in with stock adjustment. camber and caster were well within stock spec, front and rear.

it's hard to say without actually seeing your car in person, but just based on my prior experience, rear toe arms wouldn't be a bad idea before you blow $75 or so on an alignment.

Bent subframe. 0.5 degrees of toe is huge.

You can go over a 3.5 inch drop before needing toe rods as long as you aren't trying to run something stupid like -0.5 camber.
