I wonder if the new 240/silvia will have any of the GTR's dont-fuck-with-it features? I would say no seein as the 240/silvias were very tuneable, then again so was the GTR 34

No way is the new Silvia/SX going to be as computer-ridden as the GT-R. I don't think it'll be fast enough to need to be electronically limited when you're not on a track, nor will it throw you codes if you mod anything on it. That would simply lose a huge number of potential buyers. Although, I wouldn't mind that multi-function display that Polophony Digital helped out with.

However if this person just lurked they could get a general idea of what the community as a mass wants and expects. Just from reading this thread alone a Nissan rep could gauge that most zilvians expect the car to be between 18-28K with the base model bein just the car with pwr this and that, and the higher models havin LSD ect.
I don't know. I never heard of Nissan doing that...something just tells me they wouldn't be on Zilvia. Plus, why not gauge what the S-Chassis enthusiast in Japan sites have to say. It'd be easier (and probably more beneficial to us) to gauge the enthusiasts in Japan.

agreed.
a rwd performance sedan for the US would be nice for the people who can't ball out and get the cars by infiniti and lexus. sometimes used just doesn't cut it for some people.

also if there is a lurker:
DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT PUTTING SOME GAY PADDLE SHIFTER AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION BS and NOT give us an option for a manual transmission.

New Mitsubishi Ralliart + Gay paddle shifter technology = FAIL

Nissan does listen, I cant say they are on here, but I know Nissan USA does pay attention to forums, I got flown out a couple of months ago to Nissan HQ in Tennesee to test drive the '09 Maxima before it was released. They were watching maxima.org and gauging responses to the car on the forums etc.

But from what I hear, Nissan Japan isnt nearly as focused on our opinion as Nissan USA, so if its a Japanese market vehicle, I'm guessing anything we have to say would be of little importance. I got luck with the Maxima as it is a US market designed and built car.

I don't remember if this was posted in this thread, but has anyone else heard of Mazda planning to release a "new RX-7" in 2010 (as a 2011 model)?

Yeah Ive seen pictures of the new Rx7 thats coming out. Looks are very nice so far and hopefully they can do something about to make up for the rx8. Or atleast an engine that gets better than 18mpg and eats oil 3 times a day.

interesting tidbit of news that popped up today about the new hyundai genesis coupe...

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...leId=129812#12

Quote from the article:

"Known internally as "BK," the 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe will go into production in December 2008 at Hyundai's Alsan, Korea, plant. Look for the cars to arrive at dealerships in early February 2009."

looks like Nissans got a fire lit under its ass for the new entry level coupe no?

I dont know what to think. All of Nissans newer vehicles look like fat little girls to me. [No offense to anyone]

Im just curious how much fun a 3,500 pound car will be with our smaller sized motors. Think 300zx with a stock sr? UGHHHHH :'(

Before you flame, I'm not %100 up to date on Nissan's plan for this vehicle as there's so much speculation it makes my head blow up.

Anyway, I can only hope Nissan does a good job.

im pretty sure nissan has already taken the weight issue into concern...im gonna say count on a car that weighs in around 2900-3100 lbs with AT LEAST 250hp

The KA is decent but Nissan made no attempt to adapt it to being in an entry sports car. Just think if they gave it a good intake and exhaust with a fully balanced crank. It could have been pushed a lot further.

im not gonna start this debate...its like mac vs PC

i work on a mac all day...i know how to fix them...do i like them??? fuk no...theyre over priced peices of shit that give you very little control and knowledge of your own machine

i have my opinions on the KA....however im not going to get into it outside of the fact i cant stand those motors...they were a HORRIBLE choice for nissan to use in the S chassis...and i will never understand what people see in that assbackwards technologically DEFFICIENT motor...theyre heavy...ugly...require TOO much to do what a SR does on a stock bottom end...and just all around bug the piss outta me

now if you LIKE the KA...and im not going to argue that with you one bit...but please do understand...the KA was a HUGE mistake on nissans part in this country...had they used even the CA18det the S chassis market here (and view of nissan period) would be MUCH different

SEMA Preview: Rhys Millen and Hyundai team up on Genesis coupe - Autoblog

the new coupe will be showing at SEMA this year (along with 2 other genesis coupes and 3 sedans)

looks like Nissans got a fire lit under its ass for the new entry level coupe no?

Couldn't agree with you more. They need to release some kind of info, even if it's a lie. lol They're getting left behind a lot.

I think Nissan has some time. I am antsy to say the least. Even if they debut it at Detroit, that is only 6 months from now. And lately Nissan has been showing near production concepts of cars slated to come out soon. It could be released early Summer within that time frame.

And regarding the Formula D car, I'd much rather see it racing in a Touring Class race doing actual racing. No offense to the drifter people, but I want to see how this thing handles a road course.
