if your going to run federals i would go one size smaller then a normal tire there sidewalls are higher and wider then most

the problem with faterals is that the 215/45 is like really really tall and the 215/40 is like shorter than other 215/40...

Can someone explain to me this: how come if our cars are RWD, everyone wants good tires up front. Shouldnt the good tires be in the rear? People will drive with bald rears and new fronts? I dont understand.

Fronts should have some grip for better turn in response and helps with weight transfer. Rears go bald just after a few burn outs on some tires before you even start to drift and less rear grip lets the car slide easier with some wear on them.

I had a buddy a couple years ago that was running like a 225 front tire with 275 rears and he was asking me why he was understeering...

For drifting, good tires up front for awesome steering. For everything else, good tires all around.

yeah 100% true. When I picked up my 215 40 17s, I looked at them and said oh SHIT. WTF is tis? a 25 series sidewall?

well, actually, I hated when I had brand new fronts. They were TOO sticky.
Slightly worn in front tires and brand new rear tires. DREAM COMBO!

Makes most sense. I was thinking Grip/ DD. I'm to used to autoX and having good tires everywhere but better tires in rear to get traction. But Im going drifting next month so ill see.

BTW a friend is letting me borrow his stock 5 luggers with no tires for the drift day (dont want to mess up the works) what sizes should i run on those?
