After jeff fixed one of the problems (the coil pack sub harness), turns out half of the harness that runs behind the engine got so hot the solder joints melted so all of the wire is only being held together by "heat shrink" so it has been arcing to get the signal to certain devices.

Which could mean "ELECTRICAL FIRE" so to prevent that I have to replace all of the wire now.

Damn that sux. I know u put a lot of time and effort doing that harness. What did u have running behind the engine? MAF? O2? CAS?

02 sensor and maf. 02 is just 2 wire so not that big of a deal. maf is shielded wire so it's a big deal because you cant see a break in wire like that.

Haha I just remembered that you loomed each group separately all the way to the ECU. Way to not invest in 3/4" expandable sleeving and 1" / 1.25" heat shrink.

After a fun filled and eventful day for Jeff and I. (mine being work, and jeff's being washing his car only to have it sprinkler'ed) I got the harness back in, didn't do the whole gay tuck thing just in case I have to check some shit. Luckily we put the maf wires in the right order haha.

Car runs great, nice and responsive. Just waiting on the proper plugs to get here since i'm running the rape me in the ass 60 dollar kragen special (ngk laser iridium 5 heat range plugs) expect to hear a decent amount of backfiring tomorrow when I drive in 80 degree weather.

Depending on Jeff's mood we'll finish the rest of the harness sometime this week. I've officially broken all bottom mounting and upper mounting tabs for my blower motor, so it's just hanging in space now.

I told myself to take the long way and didn't listen... thank you raised manhole cover.

Now I also want to kick myself in the ass for not putting a locking nut on the back of the screws holding in my turn signals... That was a waste of 80 dollars, at least I still have the pins to salvage the sub harness for the signal.

My thoughts on thermostats is that in socal, it's not a make/break thing. If you want to run one and have $100 to dump, cool, otherwise don't. Race cars certainly don't need it, but even on the street with my oil cooler getting direct flow from a vent in the bumper my SR's oil temp never dropped below 160* or so. Not ideal for race time, but certainly flowing enough for 5w or 10w oil.
