In the USDM JZZ31 we had to grind out a slot in the inner diameter of the upper SF collar (2pcs on the left) the other 6 pieces fly right on.

So the ideas are still brewing on the next gen coilovers.

Heres what we are thinking so far, please comment if youre backing this plan (or not):
1. Diameter change to be compatible with SWIFT springs, offer Swift version
2. Pillowball lower mount (in addition to the uppers)
3. Color change to diferenciate the G2 version like yellow spring, orange mounting bracket
4. Steel Mounting bracket for cost savings
5. Wider range of damping, 12 clicks (additional two softer and two harder)
6. Even lower ride height adjustability
7. Graphic label for the bottom bracket
8. Caster adjustable top mount (so that you can maintain a stronger number of threads in your tension rod and keep the wheel centered in the wheel well no matter what the caster setting is)
9. More camber built in the lower bracket with offset holes. (non slotted type holes for strength)


Here is what we were thinking on the name and bottom bracket label

Are these second generation coilovers replacing the old coilovers completely or are you offering two lines?

My thoughts and questions using your numbering scheme:
1. If you change the diameter, are you making them less beefy looking? I realize it probably won't compromise strength/performance, but I like the beefy look of max coilovers. Insignificant.
4. Are you going to make the bracket type - steel or aluminum - optional for the purchaser?
6. Let's get deez carz in da earf. Seriously, lower? You guys kill me!
7. That looks like a lot of graphic for a coilover. I like simple. Maybe just Tsuiso Pro Max with Max Turbo Dude. I really do like that photoshop though. Mattycakes and Hitman's cars?
9. Any pictures on how that works? I can't visualize it.

I was thinking more about this comment. The graphic would wrap around 3 sides of the lower mount so if you look at the coilovers mounted in the car on one side you have TSUISOpro, the other side you have MAXドリフト and the cars are on the backside of the knuckle mount where you wouldn't seee them except for when the coilovers come out of the box.

If you look at any automotive coilovers out there they are all simple looking so youre right its alot of graphic for your average coilover. Just throwing out there whatever we think is cool. I was thinking outside the box drawing inspiration from other action sports like Jump bikes/ motoX where suspension graphics are commonplace seen below.

Its all a bit conceptual at the moment

I think the decision of replacement if the current line or two lines would logically depend on price. The steel lower bracket is to offset some of the price increase made by the additional features, it wont be as sexy as annodized aluminum which is where the graphic label may help. Ya thats Matt and Tommy.

If you look at any bottom bracket the holes are parallel to the damper. This would have the top hole closer to the center of the car and the bottom hole farther out to give X degrees more negative camber before you fine adjust with the top plate. Right now everyone uses max negative camber on the top plate so there is no more adjustability in one direction but if we build in some of the necessary camber into the bottom bracket then you get a range of adjustability in both directions back in the top plate.

I dig the idea of having the caster adjustability as well as camber adjustability on the front pillowball upper mounts.

Just not really digging HKS's price of like $400 for the front pair... and they are the only ones that have those currently.

If you guys come out with those and sell them separately from the coilovers, and not for $400, that'd be hot.

"Diameter change to be compatible with SWIFT springs, offer Swift version" good idea, but is there still a 8 weeks wait if someone wants a 8k/6k for their S-chassis? hope not.

Also, look forward for soem streetable coilover!! stiff is good but for daily is crazy..

All you really need to know is that they have low compression damping and high rebound damping that makes them easily absorb impact yet control the bounce of the 8/10 KG springs compaired to others.

Its up to Eisuke San to work on the damper engineering so I dont know. I'm just taking this window of opportunity to contrubute some good ideas to the next generation before they get set in stone.
