Hey, I just bought a 1995 240sx, came with some 18X9.5-235/35/18; 18X10.5-255/35/18 +25 offset all around Varrstoens ES2's. Car is slammed on Megan coilovers and fenders have been rolled to accommodate. Tires stick out like crazy especially in the rear. I am in the process of redoing the car, engine swap, interior redone, body work, paint, etc. I am fitting new fenders and fixing the quarters. I am wondering what I need to do to not have to mutilate the body to accommodate the wheels.
Can I lower the car below factory ride height with these wheels? Should I just throw these wheels out and go with a slimmer set to lower the car and save my fenders? Should I put the fronts (9.5") to the rear and get 8.5" in the front? I want to retain factory camber/caster, at least close to spec. I don't mind wheel gap, would prefer a sports car look, not a street sweeper look. What offset is flush without any poke? Thank you for your responses. |

Just needing some clarification before I make the purchase...
S13 Coupe w/ coilovers & ruca's...stock hubs/brakes. I'm picking up a set of 17x9+12 Rota Grids (would like a 9.5 in rear but they only sell sets of 4). As far as tires... with 215/40 all around on 17x9+12 should I be fine with a light roll and minimal camber in the rear? What about the fronts since I have no front control arms up there? Thanks & yes I've read 100's of wheel fitment pages. |

Can I lower the car about 1.5" below factory ride height all around without rolling fenders? If yes, can I install a proper tire on those wheels (285/40) without stretching the tire and still not rub?

You'll definitely have to work the fenders to fit a 285 on there. The 255 will fit probably with only a roll.
Look up 18x10.5 setups on rimtuck.com to see other s14's with 255s and a similar setup

Thanks fellas. Looks like I won't be able to put those wheels in the rear without rolling. Going to put the 9.5 to the rear and pick up matching 8.5s for the front. Certainly not looking for mexi flush. In fact I am looking to retain a wheel gap and proper camber. Will adjust the height to not have to mutilate new body panels. 235/40 on 8.5" for front sound proper?

Question about fitment on the front of an s14:
18x9.5 with a zero offset, running a 215/40/18 with about -6 degrees of camber, will be really low, will there be a lot of rubbing with that size tire? also, I doubt Ill be able to get my full steering lock or am I wrong? and last: I'll be going with federal 595's all around, how's the quality in these? I know they stretch well and suck in the rain but do they last long? I've read mixed reviews but what I've been seeing is that they last long because of how they are made Feel free to correct me if I am wrong. |

As far as Feddy 595s, they're decent for daily...but 240 UTQG is pretty low for what they are but they are cheap. $91 from Citytireonline.com. But other options are Ventus V12 Evos with roughly the same UTQG. My other recommendations are Achilles ATR Sports (UTQG 400) and General AS-03s (480). |

Never had a problem when I ran my pair of federals in the rain and they did last me pretty long. They run a bit wider than normal though so keep that in mind.

Thank you fellas this helps a lot. But I am also wondering about a 215/40 hitting the top of the wheels wells like on bumps? Do you guys rub? I know for a fact that with a 35 series I wouldn't but my s14 will be pretty low with a bn front bumper. I want to keep from destroying it with a 40 series if that makes sense, basically I want to be really low but have the height of the tires keep me from being snowplower low you see where I am getting at? |

I had 18x8.5 +30 with 225/40s in the front at one point, and I had plenty of clearance with my fenders rolled. Ive also ran 18x9.5 +12 with 225/40s in the front with my camber maxed out on the top hats. I think it only rubbed at full lock. I was probably around your said desired height too. I think you should be fine all around.

My friend has BN on his Kouki, maxed out on PBMs with 215/35s in the front. Fender is pretty much on the lip, and he's only ever put like one crack on it in the middle. Maybe 2 at most.

18x8.5 & 18x9.5 +20F/R, 225/40F & 225/40R.. I have JSK coil-overs with full adjustable camber and height. I know I will probably have to roll, but will I also have to pull as well, and will it clear the coil-overs or should I go with 215's in the front? Looking to lower the car about 1"-1"1/2 above lip of the rim as well. Don't want my car looking like 4x4. Thx in advance.

Look im looking to buy 16x8 rims . i dont know what offset to get . i want to get a wheel that will go on and not need me to buy anything else like springs coilovers or to get the fenders rolled or pulled. ive seen +15 and +25. ive also seen the rims in a15x8 if that will make more of a differnce. I basically am looking for a rim size that I can just put on a stock 240 and have it look good for now. The stock rims aren't cutting it. The car is stock shocks and don't wanna have to get anything done yet cause I only got ao much money. Can someone help please?

Well I'm sure it gets tiring answering the same questions a billion times, especially when you could have searched and found the answer in about 5 minutes. No need to be a dick about it when this guy is spoon feeding you answers.

I'd go with 15mm spacers instead, because then you could just use bolt-ons instead of worrying about extended studs, but that's just me.

I saw a real pic of you and I was right, you really are a Needle Dick. My balls probably have more hair on it than your face. You're kind of small to have attitude like you do Needle Dick. That can be detrimental to your health. You probably shave your legs as well, don't you ND..... Oh and your mama is one ugly crier. Jeez.

S14's have more room in the rear than an s13 so I'm guessing you can run a 235/40 and be fine. If you want a 265 I'm sure you'll be fine depending on your camber settings and how pulled your rear fenders are. To fit a 285/95 you will need a big pull and/or lots of camber! |
