Here's a picture that has both of them in it. A couple with my buddy's car. Beginning of the Frankenstein coupe project.

when you paint it do you just paint it over the whole glass/plastic covering of the whole tailights that cover everything(excluding the signal and red parts)?

Wrong. Both JDM and USDM are supposed to be black. Gray means your shit's been out in the sun too long.

IM not sure what u mean but did u look at the link i posted. Good tips are make sure u tape off lights good and dont leave any gaps or the paint will go on the lights.Use good pin strip tape to tape off the edge and then use masking tape. DO a proper cleaning before hand. I was able to do 1 good solid coat on the corners the middle piece was a bit harder i had to redo it. if u need to redo the lights u can just wet sand the tail lights with 750 grit sandpaper. Just be patient painting the lights nice light coats work good . I got the vinyl spray paint in autozone make sure u get the glossy black

Nope some of the USDM green moss koukis had a greyish purple border instead of black on their tial lights. I know because I have a set and they're not faded from black.
