Thank you! Indeed I used FG0 for the top color, It looks slightly off compared to my old original painted body panels. Maybe because it's new?? On the bottom I used a color from Toyota, 1G3 (Magnetic Gray). Pics: |

Sold my DD and project after spring semester ended, then saved this off craigslist. 900 bucks with a bill of sale, title turned out to be clean and it has a/c for vegas heat. Auto trans is going out, but at least it runs again. The passenger side needs a ton of body work, but in time I hope to restore it. Im not 100% sure either, but might be 35th U.S. 240sx? Or the 35th auto trans out of the factory it was made lol idk. its an 89 and the vin is pretty low though. I hope it last long enough to save up for another DD!
Color of car: Code is 6G0 which google tells me is platinum metalic blue and dark grey. Build date: 6-88 original transmission:auto sunroof:yes HUD:No longer working swapped for analog for now wing:currently yes State:NV Last edited by Boorito; 06-25-2012 at 11:22 PM.. |

looks the most blue in this picture to me, but could be my garage lights. and I posted this in the "post your car" thread, but it is at least a pic that makes the car look clean lol. Im torn between restoring it as an automatic, or doing the 5 speed swap to avoid the headaches of a 240sx auto trans. |

The infamous TyphoonSlippery. Give us some more information on your vehicle. Paint Codes? Wheel Sizes? Vanquish lip? More Pictures? Do you still have it? I figure i'll ask you here instead of PMing you since it's two-tone related.
Also two-tone related, my vehicle: Arrrr-Beeeee |

why put a silvia front end on a us chassis?
Why put kouki goodies on USDM hatches? why join an s-chassis site about 8 years too late and question people deep in the game? The world may never know.

I have a question for those deep in the game. (or anyone with an opinion on coupe trunks) I am leaning towards a restore with possibly some factory options, after body work and trans conversion I am considering the OEM trunk rack. I have been around 240s a good while now, mostly hatches, but have known people with coupes and been to car shows etc... I have not once seen an OEM trunk rack on a coupe in person. Are they hard to find? I assume that means they will be not cheap in good shape. Should I waste my time when I am ready? Keep the vert wing/ trunk and paint it when the body is ready? Or go wingless? I am most likely going to buy a wingless trunk soon anyway. I do really like Rocket Bunny wings, but seeing I wont ever put a kit I cant see putting that wing with stock body, though it might not look bad with a front lip? This is my first S coupe, would not mind knowing what coupe enthusiasts think |

My brother said the same thing, but I like them so this opinion does not matter.
Most importantly it doesnt really answer any of my questions. More just wondering about how hard they are to find and price if found if anyone knows. Not really asking an opinion on WHY they are rare, or hard to find, I can assume that on my own based on what popular opinions are on them. So if you have an opinion that more answers any of my question, would be much more appreciated than the negative style opinion you have. |

I DID answer one of your questions. You asked if they are hard to find... YES. Why? Because there aren't many of them. WHY? Because they are UGLY. Same reason why the creamy-yellow coupes are the rarest US-market two tone cars. Not many were ordered because they're the least attractive of the three color schemes (though, it does grow on you). Perhaps NICO would suit you better if you think my first response was too negative for you. You asked for coupe enthusiast opinions, and that's exactly what you got from me. But, to answer your question on price... If for some silly reason I wanted one, I wouldn't pay more than 20 bucks for it. I've seen a few on beat up stock coupes, but never on an enthusiast car, and in the 6+ years that I've had my coupe, I've never seen one come up for sale. Hell, you could probably make some money by trading your winged trunklid for a racked lid + cash, as you'd be doing the owner of the car with the luggage rack a favor. Rare doesn't have to mean expensive if the part is rare because of low production demand due to ugliness. So, price it accordingly. |
