Rebuilding some bbs rs's into track wheels.
They were 16x7.5 +30.
They will be 16x9.5 +6 w/ 245/45
&
16x10 +0 w/255/50

Should have them done next month some time when the new lips come in.

So… ive been going through this all and i haven't been able to find exactly what I'm looking for. I'm have a little trouble deciding on my rear tire set up…

1997, godspeed toe arms, (not sure which RUCA I'm gonna get) ive pulled my fenders in the rear and rolled them up front.

i have a set of 18x9.5 RPF1 SBC +15 for all four corners.

before ill be installing the wheels/tires and coilovers all at once (BS coilovers)

i want to go with a 245/35 in the front, I'm pretty sure that'll fit fine and will look pretty good.

out back I'm trying to decide between a 265/35 or a 275/35… i don't want to run a lot of camber, and since my rear fenders are pulled, i don't think ill have to, i also don't want bulging tires, either. if anything id like my rear to be square…

Start with the 265s because of only running +15. Then if they still fit with a 5mm spacer, up the ante to 275s on your next set. Or maybe by then you'll get some custom offset wheels... you could easily run +30 at that width.

Do you guys think 17x9.5 +17 with a 255/40 will be pushing it up front, on stock fenders? I am not low like some of the people on here, but I am pretty low. (about 3.5 inches from ground to frame rail)

^I've had that, you will have to bend the fender ALOT to the point of cracking, but man does the car drive good.. and the harness has to be relocated or raised and zip tied it will rub otherwise. I also removed the inner plastic shielding.

Uuuh being slammed like that, no chances, that's retarded raise your car up.

GKTech roll center correcting spindles are going on the car in less than a month, so raising it too much will actually also be bad...

Hey guys, I've found similar setups to what I'm trying to run on this thread, but nothing exactly. Here's my setup:

Car: S14
fender modifications: F+R fenders rolled, no pull
camber settings: -3 front, 0.5 rear
wheel size: 17x9.5 +30 front and rear
purpose: autox/track days

I want to run a square setup with 255/40 all around, thoughts?

Ryan

I can't see you fitting 17x9.5+30 in front with coilovers, it's possible with normal shock/spring combo though.

It'll be an extremely tight fit, but it's possible. You have to pick your coilovers VERY carefully. Megan's with their extended bracket add-on might be able to do it, but McCoy did 17x9.5+28 with 255's up front on an S13. But it should be noted that his coilovers were a custom Koni Yellow/Ground Control setup.

But if it's all the same, I'd say pick something other than 17x9.5+30. Fitting 255's up front with that ain't for the newly initiated, IMO. The pics above literally have only millimeters of clearance and MOST coilovers would even get close to that kind of room.

Yeah, 9.5+30 prob won't clear the coil.

With a 9 +22 I run a 255 in front. My setup provides a +14mm increase in inner clearance, and 2mm less outer clearance versus a 9.5 +30.

My friend Tyrone put 255s all the way around on his s14, 17x9 +22 all around: http://zilvia.net/f/cars-sale/512890...-15-300-a.html

Thanks for the reply guys, its nice to see actual intelligent responses for a change. Simmode thanks for the photo. I'm currently running Apexi coils with a moderate drop almost identical to the link e1_griego posted. If I spaced out the wheels 5mm would the 255's clear the front fenders without pulling them?

E1_griego, do you know if Tyone pulled the rear fenders at all? I can't tell from the pics he posted. Are there any issues running 17x9.5 +30 with a 255/40 tire in the rear?

I'm running 9.5 +33 in back of my s13 with a 255. With an s14 you shouldn't have a problem.

He didn't do a pull, just a roll, but he's running -2.5* or so in back.

I just picked up my track wheels today. I did a quick test fit and just like you guys said i'll need to run a 5mm spacer up front to prevent rubbing. From the looks of it I should be able to get away with a 255/40/17 setup all around but we'll see after I get the tires mounted. I'll be sure to post up pics, thanks again for everyone's help.

^ Any reason you didn't go wider or did the +15 offset not allow it? How much camber are you running? I hope to get a meaty setup for my te37's but I need to pull my fenders. For now here's my track/autox setup:

uploadfromtaptalk1368326086833.jpg

Rota p45r +30 all around + 5mm spacer to clear coils
255/40/17 all around
-3 degrees camber front
-1 degree camber rear
Stock front fenders
Rolled rear fenders

I'll take better pictures when I get my meaty volk setup .

I'm not sure yet, haven't lowered it. I could easily run a 275, my flared fenders help, I could probably buy a 10.5 and run a 285.

I plan on running 1.5 degree out back and 2 in the front. Anyone see a problem with this? Rubbing shouldn't be an issue, I had all fenders pulled when I did body work

Need help on alignment. All I keep finding is drift crap.

I can run 0-1 degree of camber out back but I'm not sure what is ideal. Also not sure what to put my camber and caster to up front...

Daily driver, occasional road course and auto cross. Will hopefully being seeing tail of the dragon too. I also put about 70 highway miles on it everyday driving to school
You guys got any ideas?

There are a lot of tires that'll fit that wheel, including a 245.

This is the max tire fitment thread not meaty looking tire thread... Anyone can put narrow wheels with bulgy 225s on their 240sx.
