at idle your idle will flucuate with the plug in when you turn the wheel. Without it plugged in it won't do anything. It's just a pressure sensor. It won't hurt at all, most sr swaps don't have them plugged in.

Close. It idles up the engine at full lock only. If you never turn the wheel to full lock you'll never notice it. If you do, you'll see the idle dip about 100rpm. Either way it's nothing, don't worry about it.
