I installed my short shifter today, but I neglected to use 2 out of the 4 washers that are suposed to be used between the plate spacer and the curved metal pieces. Will this negatively affect anything? It does even seem as though those spacers are needed. Anyway I have the Megan Racing short shifter. Heres a pic.

It shouldn't effect performance one bit.

Make sure the bushing is secure in the (socket the bushing sits in) on the tranny, and you should be A-Okay.

Why don't you just install the other 2 washer?

use threadlocker or they may vibrate loose.
