S14 SR20DET Help! To go Kouki or Zenki?

Yesterday i picked up my new motor, a s14 Kouki blacktop minus the ecu and harness. I have a source for the ecu and harness, but i need some input before i get them.

1) Ive heard that as long as you have a matching harness/ecu combo (zenki or kouki) that you can mate it to any s14 sr20det, is this true?

2) If so, then which route should i take? My motor is a Kouki, but should i pick up the Kouki harness/ecu or the Zenki harness/ecu?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

a couple of the pins on the ecu are different. That only thing that is pretty crucial on harness's is the maf plug for the zenki and kouki is different. Motor wise they are indentical except for the cooling fins on the head found in the kouki models.

#1 you are correct
#2 i'd try to find a kouki set, but whichever is easier to find. I would take that route.

so the kouki motor MUST have the kouki harness/ecu/mafs?

Can i use a Zenki mafs if i splice the plug on the kouki harness?
