Brake problem
My car has a strange problem. Whenever I hit a bump or anything rough it will sound like a scraping noise but if I apply the e-brake a little it will go away. It also sometimes stops if I come to a complete stop. I have tried to ride it out a couple times and it just would not go away until I came to a complete stop or if i put on the e-brake. What could be the problem? A messed up caliper? rotor? It also is just the stock brakes both in the front and rear on an s14. The pads have enough meat.

can you see any metal shavings? scars on the rotors anywhere? are the calipers bolted on tight?
Where does the noise seem to come from?

Its the right rear brake area. It doesnt occur because of braking but starts whenever I hit a bump. I dont see any shavings or scars but my friend got out the car and saw that it was coming from the inner side of the brake.

Ok i took it get looked and they said it was the metal piece on the pad telling me to change them. But it was from the caliper being at an angle but I told them not to change the pads yet cause Im lookin to upgrade really soon and Id have to use their oem pads. They also said they didnt lube up the calipers correctly. Now it is always grabbing the rear pads and they heat up real bad just while driving a little and I get bad brake fade. Did they fuck up my calipers?
