Looking at getting a Pacesetter exhaust. Opinions wanted.

My old exhaust has a hole in it and is getting quite loud, so I'm looking at getting a Pacesetter exhaust because it's cheap and I don't have alot of money to drop on a nice exhaust right now. I was hoping that some people that have had them would be able to comment on whether or not they liked them. I found one guy selling one and emailed him but haven't gotten a response yet so anyone else that has (or has had one) please give your opinions/thoughts/observations.

Are you going to change it again later on?

If you're going to change your exhaust in the future when you have enough money...how much is your budget?

I'm not really sure if I'll be changing it later on or not. Depends on how long I keep the car, how much I want to spend on it if I keep, etc. I was just going to go stock, checked the price at a couple muffler shops (both of which wanted over $350 for full cat back replacement and ~$230 for axle back), and then decided to see what I could find online. Came across the Pacesetter for $226 shipped. I thought that if it's not a shitty, obnoxious exhaust I might go for it and put it on myself and save some money. The next best price for an aftermarket exhaust I've found is around $475 which is more than I'd like to spend right now.

Yes, I agree. You can get a custom exhaust at a shop and not more than $200. Most likely it'll sound better aswell if you use something like a magnaflow on it.

Do not get Pacesetter its junk. You should be able to find an exhaust shop that can do a custom catback with Magnaflow muffler for $200-275.

I have the same setup on my car, 3" from the downpipe back with a high flow converter, cost me about like 200 plus the cost of the cat.
... Mufflers cost me about 85 bux from Summit, I liked those better than the ones in the shop.

I would do it again before I THOUGHT of getting a pacesetter exhaust

Pacesetter is about the same quality as the sushi you buy with fake crab in it. Might as well be ground up paper.

Seriously. Its performance is equal in comparison to the fitment of a $200 body kit.

I just put one on my Friends MR2. It's not the worst exhaust I have ever seen. I think it will do good for her purposes.

I however think it would look stupid on a 240sx. Have you also looked at buying a used "high end" exhaust from someone?

Motoria/ssautochrome on ebay. 3in stainless, only one slight bend. Perfect fitment. Sounds great too. Less then 200 on ebay and you might get lucky and get a free downpipe and test pipe like I did.

hahaha i didnt realize that people can "rep" you on this forum.. i clicked on my control panel today and saw all the pissed off folks angry about my "team mexico" post. tranquilo tranquilo.. it was just a joke.

here are some facts:
- my mexican friends who fix up cars, dont fix up their cars with parts made in mexico.
- when driving to downtown every morning, why is that i always see a dude with a busted up accord or tercel, yet.. it has a body kit, altezza taillamps and some chrome "n1 style" exhaust -- rockin the chromie wheels fo'sho. :-)

when my mexican friends call me pinche wedo, i dont get upset.. its just a joke, no need to play the race card and get all sensative and politically correct -- fuckin america man, people always catchin feelings ready for a law suit.

hahaha god i love this fucked up forum... its like it was meant for me to get deleted OVER and OVER and OVER again. i think this is my 22,000th post. :-)

My brother has a pacesetter exhaust on his s13 coupe. Sounds very Honda-ish at higher rpm like raspy-ish/rattly. Fitment is kinda crappy and gaskets are paper. This exhaust is definitely you get what you pay for.
