![]() OKay Im still pretty clueless on mating proprer fuel setup for my car. Mind you i havent installed anyoff this on my car yet, Im just trying to do it all at once and right. The motor is a series 1 rb25det in a 96's14. I got a Greedy (expernsive bastards)Intake Mani, Hks 2535 56trim. Now my question is obiviously im gonna max out my stock injectors, and a mechanic's buddy has got some denso 444c sidefeeds that the dude isnt gonna use for his 2jz and is willing to let them go fir 100bucks. Would 444c be aight to run with that turbo? Cause i dont want them maxed out all the time cause i here running injectors at 100% all the time = blowing up motor, and that 80% is as high as u wanna go. Granted if i got them i would have them cleaned by him and flowtested, cause he told me 5, and 6 cylinders lean out on rb25's the most with greddyIM.

Injector sizing: on 6cyl Gas motor 1cc ~= 1bhp @ 100% duty.
So at 80% duty cycle here are some rough #s... 444 @ 80% <= 350 crank hp <= 300whp @ 15% loss 550 @ 80% <= 440 crank hp <= 375whp @ 15% loss 720 @ 80% <= 560 crank hp <= 490whp @ 15% loss So right away you can see the 444s are probably going to be too small for what you're try to do. You should get some 550s at least if not something larger (600s or 700s) so you have some room to grow. I don't know what kind of injectors the 2jz has but unless they're side feed and the right impedance you're going to have to splice in some resistors and/or a new rail in order to use them. deatschwerks.com sells drop-in rb25 injectors all day long (look on Ebay and FS area too). If you're gonna spend all that money on the Mani & HKS-2535 why not spend a little more to ensure you get correctly sized, brand new injectors? You may want to consider converting to a top feed rail, as you'll probably have better injector selection but that's up to you. And for the leaning out problem, if you have a decent ECU to control your bigger injectors (like a PowerFC) I hear you can adjust #5 and #6 to be ever-so-slightly more rich than the others to compensate. What ECU are you planning to run? If you're just doing a ROM tune or SAFC, you could have the injectors flow tested and put the two biggest flowing injectors in the back. |

ok I am going to step up to this. I have the same setup. The HKS GT2535. Like Mello asked, two questions come to mind. One, how much HP are you after. Two, what kind of fuel management or computer are you going to run?
Know I have successfully run the HKS to .9 bar with stock injectors in the 75-80 range. I would not push them farther though for safety's sake. I also run a PowerFC and strongly recommend it. If you want to go to the max boost that turbo is capable of aka 1.2 bar. Then your going to need 550 injectors and it would be good to get a Z32 maf to flow the extra air if you haven't done it yet. You will be running the stock maf at pretty much max flow in the upper boost range. I should have dyno results on my setup in the next 3-4 weeks. I am going with a set of HKS injectors that I got hooked up with. I was looking at the Deatschwerks and my dyno tuner said don't. He basically explained it as, there injectors are remanufactured which is true. They are selling Injectors that have been reworked for higher flow. He basically said, while the rate will be right and they will work, the spray pattern will be narrower and not as good as a brand new never remanufactured injector. I was looking for used Nismo's, Then my friend had 4 used HKS 550's off his S15 SR and could get me two more new ones and his used ones only have about 500-1k worth of driving on them . So I am going HKS 550's
