Most Retarded Question Ever!

HOW THE HELL DO I REMOVE that little strip of lights in the trunk?!

The one above the large "false light" panel. It has 4 little bulbs and 1 10mm nut on each side of it. I removed the two 10mm nuts but this thing WILL NOT come out!! WTF is holding it in?

I'm still trying to figure out what strip of lights you're talking about. I guess it's to much to ask to specify model, year, and just exactly what the fuck you're referring to.

Well considering there is only ONE "little stip of lights" in the trunk, i thought you'd understand... But yes, i could be more specific.

1995 240sx se. On the s14 trunk there is a "false panel" that looks like lights but is just there for "show" or reflective purposes. ABOVE THAT there is a SMALL STRIP. It looks like a reflector that is 1 inch tall by 12 inches wide. In that there are four small bulbs that can be seen from inside the trunk. FROM INSIDE THE TRUNK there are two 10mm nuts(one on each side) of that strip. Once the 10mm nuts are removed the "light strip" still wont come out. The center still seems to be attatched very well, and it feels like the thing will snap in half if i push any harder.

Hope this clears things up. thanks.

its held in by adhesive. Get a heat gun, get it really hot and pull it out.

Try getting a chisel and punching it really hard with a hammer.

I know what you're talking about, mine was kind of a bitch but I just had to push it with my thumb.

This post was the first time you were specific on what model/chassis you had, but you expected us to know?

Jeez...

just pull it out like inertiaticism said....i also have a 95 s14, and yeah it took me a while to figure it out...just pull it off with something, or like inert. said, use a chisel....it should work....if it doesn't, get it really hot, and rip it...it's not important....

It's called a THIRD BRAKELIGHT

, and by saying it's IN the trunk you give the impression it's inside the vehicle, not ON the trunk lid itself. The 'false panel' is the reverse light panel. Giving some sort of idea about the part you're dealing with and what car you're working with might actually be a good idea next time.

Now that we know what you're talking about, remove the two nuts, and gently pry it off, it's sealed in. How do you think it keeps water out when it rains?

.. and to think when I first read this thread; it had no replies... when I left later I actually opend my trunk to try and find this "strip of lights in the trunk" thinking maybe I had missed them over all my time of owning/working on my car.
