SR20 oil/plugs winter/summer

hey guys,
i picked up an S14 a few months ago, i need to do an oil change soon. what oil should i use? its cold in utah (30 degrees during the day, 15 at night) for a while. so what synthetic oil should i be using? also, what should i use in the summer time (100 degrees during the day, 65-70 at night)?

im having some issues with my plugs also, they were gapped to .30 and boost would blow them out, now theyre .25 and at .7 bar they still get blown out a little bit. is .22 too small? also, what is the stock heat range? i want to run colder plugs in the summer, what heat range should i use? what about in winter? warmer heat range?

sorry thats a lot of questions lol

thanks,
Greg

as per recommendations from both XAT and Enjuku, i use the heat range 6 at 12psi. Enjuku says only use Iridiums, XAT says only use coppers. i saw from a chemistry standpoint that iridium is far better at dissipating heat and therefore should be used whenever possible. the downside is that you can't gap them, but they really don't need gapping. as i said i'm running 12psi stock turbo and certainly no signs of the BKR6E-IX being too hot or gapped to far open.

My NGK BKR7E-11's seem to be blowing out at around 9-10 psi. I have them gapped at .030" Going to see if an MSD coil will help out some.

also use Royal Purple 10w30 oil for the summer because its heavier and it wont clog up the motor. but i use lighter oil weight in the winter

yea that works too the lighter in the winter and the heaver in the summer. if you think about it. sit out some light and heavy oil out side over night and watch the oil become stale and frezze up. of course u want the oil that is still liquid like and that would be the lighter and yes Synthetic is what u want to run in you car. same goes for the summer thing sit out side and do it. hahaha

20w50 or 15w40 in the summer... just sticking with 15w40 through the winter i guess... but 10w30 would be best

how about Mobil1 Ow-40? low winter weight, with high film strength, it's the best. 3 quarts of that and a quart of 15w-50 and you have like 5w-45. It's the best all year round!

I would never run 20w-anything in my car, the wear on startup is too great.
