Nissan Vs Honda People

Ok i have a 91 honda hatchback (ef9) and I go to Honda sites and forums alot to find information, and soon I'll be purchasing a 240sx as it is my dream car and I've been to alot of Nissan forums like this one.

The thing is on all the Honda forums it seems like all they do is put down everything everyone talks about, one guy asked about a body kit, they told him it was stupid rice and to worry about making hp, another guy comes in and asks what platform would be best for build a 500 hp ek, and they told him he was stupid. But I go to Nissan forums and it always seems like its alot more postive feed back and way more supportive, I love hanging around here so much more, when I posted that thread about those lights and that b-kit I was ready for a reaming that never came.

Not to say all honda enthusiasts are a$$holes or anything, I've met a handfull of Honda ppl that we're pretty cool, but only a handfull of the one of most owned vehicles in america.

well ive been on other nissan sites and dont get flamed nearly as much as the honda sites, not to mean i dont expect some flaming, Ive been on nicoclub for a while, and some myspace forums, still i get alot less flack from the nissan crew

Valiant240sx: The people who put down posts suck as you described most likely are OG's who've had/seen it all. When a new member comes on stating that they want five hundred horse power, they will most likely never make it there. Same as aero. People come around asking for some sick ass body kit. Then have wheels that don't fit and the ride height is that of a monster truck.

Zilvia is the same way for the most part. And when you are flamed, it isn't so much as a put down, but people trying to show you the light.

i know the thing ill get blasted the most for is the fact that i dont really care for the whole jdm scene too much, i understand everyone has different tastes, but right now it seems everyone is going that way. I do like the jdm performance parts for the fact they have more parts that actually perform, not saying we dont have nice performance parts here in the states.

Any cliche/owners group in ANY type of hobby is like that. Thats why i try to distant myself away from forums as a community and just use them as a resourceful reference. Of course if your in your beginners stage, you may want to stick around on the forums a little more often to absorb information quicker.

Let me start by asking this: the 240SX is your dream car? Hooray for easily attainable aspirations!

Some of us, i.e. me, don't like body kits and will flame you if you get on our bad side. If you run around with a body kit and crappy suspension along with stock wheels, you'll be on my bad side. I'm judgemental but I try not to be an overt dick unless I'm provoked either by extremely poor taste, subpar intelligence, or any post by a member of the Viceroy crew.

Search often, don't be a show/trend whore, and you'll probably make few enemies.

Oh no, we love to share information. But it gets really annoying when people try to share the SAME INFORMATION over, and over, and over, and over. While at the same time, new people keep signing up and asking for that very information that somehow they can't seem to find.

Thatguy pretty much said it. Id say 95% of the neg rep points dished out are on posting useless threads. such as:

1) Will these wheels fit? 18x15 -250 offset .I already bought them but have no clue how to do simple math.
2) Which exhaust/diff/intake/etc is the BEST for my severly underpowered car that will never see a track day in the 3 months I own it before I crash it?
3) stories about street racing, drifting, other illegal shit, which is the reason we have so many cops popping hoods now.
4)I havea retarded question and kent speel fur mai lyf and have no clue what a period is

I dont know...When I joined the board there was a plethora of info and opinions being shared and there were the occasional flaming here and there...but now its a lot worse. The same questions are popping up day in day out and its obvious that nobody is searching, nor following advice they recieve. Since a lot of people with neg reps are reading this, just search more and if its broken, go to google. Id rather see 1 new thread a day in chat about a new part, or buildup, or something productive, than 10 new ones asking questions that can be easily found using google or search button here on zilvia.

Just my little rant.
