frustration!!Car Dies when Headlights are on?
i have no idea what my cars problem is.. i have a sr20 red top in my s14.. tuned on my safc II.. the idle has always been weird but started going crazy after i changed my fuel filter.. it's lot more steady at idle but when i press the clutch to coast my idle drops down to 300 or so ,(doesn't die in the day time, and goes back up to about 700-800rpm.. at regular idle its round 1050.. so when i come to a stop it goes from 700-800 back up to 1050 or so.. the weird thing is when i drive at night and when my headlights and acc lights are on.. my car's idle dipps and doesnt come back up.. it tries to but then just ends up dying.. i thought it could be my bov but why does it only happen at night (i have blow through method).. i thought it was my alternator.. but the car's battery doesnt drain and car stays on even if i remove the battery.. i can also restart the car right away after it dies.. it must possibly be an electrical problem right? i still hit full boost when i punch it as well and dont see a noticable loss of power.. im getting real frustrated and am thinking of selling my car if i cant solve this problem.. oh yeah im running a gt2871 60 ar. tuned at 15 psi.. can lack of grounds be the prob? i only have 2 in the engine bay.. i have a multimeter but have no idea how to use it.. please help..

Sounds like you did not wire power to the IACV. Try disconecting the electrical connector for the IACV and see if this makes a difference in idle, drive-ability.

![]() One of the plugs on the left is for the IACV The IACV is under the Intake Plenum Runners.
