i'm buying a new couch. my current couch/chair combo is an orange/brown plaid 70's relic i picked up at an estate sale for 10 bucks. but, i feel i've grown up and it's time to get some real furniture.

i've narrowed it down to two choices, both Ikea. i've sat in both, both are very comfortable, and both offer pretty much the same seating space. both are about the same price, too.

OPTION A:

"TYLÖSAND" series couch/chaise. i'd probably get it in orange, and it would be paired with a matching footstool:

"KRAMFORS" series couch/chaise. i'd probably go with the "dark grey", which is pretty much black in person. they have a leather version that i had my eye on a while back, but i wound up with a cat, and now leather furniture is pretty much out of the question (although, if i ever find a good deal on a classic Eames lounge chair, kitty's getting declawed). would be paired, again, with the matching footstool:
