motor swap in michigan - Zilvia.net Forums | Nissan 240SX (Silvia) and Z (Fairlady) Car Forum

I'm planning on swaping my motor this winter but I don't have the tools, time or place to do it myself.  Does anyone know of a place that would do it in Michigan and if not, I"m close to Chicago too so I could go there.

hey Greg! I've got a trained tech buddy over here who would probably be willing to do it sometime during the winter. He does lots of side jobs at home, has done lots of Honda swaps, and loves my car! My guess is the other local guy here doing the SR swap will have him "hook everthing up" after they drop the SR in his S13, so he would have the actual experience on an SR swap by then. He's prob the best in the area!

I've heard Sound Performance in Chicago is one of the best for high-line mods (apparently Supra's are one of their specialties), but my guess is they are expensive....?

all Chai needs is wiring diagrams and info on doing it.....we talked the other night (for gmgs14's project, he said yes). Olay I figured u already asked him!?  i haven't had time to research the websites to get info, and i'm outta here this Wed 21st for 10 days. give him a call!

my car is finally down off the jack stands! get glass put back in, few other things and it's done. as long as paperwork doesn't hold me up, should be cruisin' first week of Sept!!

Olay, i'll stop by after i get back to see if u need a hand.
Greg, u outta come out in Sept, we'll go talk to Chai about ur winter project. see ya.

eh, i never really asked him, i always bug him with my other questions, but oh wells, i'll be a test pig, i just dont wanna screw things up. But just swing by whenevers, im pretty much close to being done, most of my parts i needed are here, just waiting on some more stuff, i still figure the intercooler piping and the wiring harness will take the longest. But yea, just swing by. Peace
