selling car.. need some advice

So i got my 190e on ebay and its going very well.. Just realized the car is too nice for me. I had it for about 6 months.. Heres the thing, I did the title transfer, but I havent got the car to pass smog. So i been driving around with temp papers. I havent recieved the title of certificate yet since they wont issue it til the car is smogged? The car wont pass smog for sure since its a euro spec and even when these cars where brand new they wouldnt meet todays smog standards.... The car is in my name and insured so I have been driving it.

So I have the permit and temp papers, and the previous certificate of title from the previous owner..

The car will be sold today on ebay. Anyone ever sell a car with just that stuff?? I was going to have the car "pass" smog but my connection fell through.

I dont want to wait for smogging the car and waiting for the title, since I want to sell it right away and pick up another car that is for sale right now. Im not sure but I think whoever buys my car might be out of state too, so smogging it might not be needed? hmmm

Any idea what I can do? Im thinking if I sign some papers stating I give up the ownership of teh vehicle to *whomever buys it* and then maybe have a notary sign the paperwork making it legal and include the papers I do have *previous title* would work?

Yea, it would work. I had to do the same thing on a car. It was partially registered so they told me to find the previous owner and have them sign some sort of paper releasing the car. New owner will still have to repay any fees.

"Why does the car have those "Limit Break!" decals on it?" lol

I think going to city hall will work...or i believe he can bring it to a registry with some paper work and say that you he never recieved the title and theyll issue him a new one

You dont HAVE to smog it, Ive sold many cars without smogging it. It IS the law but many people dont ask for it or realize it. Fill out those forms, sell the car and buy another 240. You know you want to

You should sell your cars in your country1 search for a site that that is specifically designed or based in your country it is more easy to deliver that car rather than doing a shift off the country!

The only document needed to sell a car in most states is the title, I don't think Illinois has smog laws. Give him the certificate of title from the previous owner along with the permit and temporary papers, that should be fine, and if there are any issues, I'm sure they'll tell him what needs to be done at his city hall.
Also, in many states a car has to pass a safety inspection before it can be registered, but you can let the new owner worry about that.
