i was shocked from hearing...joey chestnut from san jose defeated the reigning nathan hotdog champ of 6 years by 66 hotdogs. Kobayashi finished 63.

i believe that sore jaw slowed him down. i recently had wisdom tooth pulled so, i know how it feels.

a couple of days ago on ESPN the showed last years and chestnut was on 2 down from Kobayashi (56) but dam 66 dogs, that would suck when it came back out

i heard he broke his jaw due to training prior to the contest. 6 years of doin' that prob. took its toll...

The pro's do. Watched a show on pro eaters and this dude that is the Jalapeño champ said he didn't know about it the first year and passed them...

I remember that MTV showed with Kobayashi, and they showed his stomach after eating all the hotdogs.
It was HUGE, like 2x the size it was before he ate. I don't think he hurls them up though. He said the hotdog smell seeps through his pores, delicious.

yeah.. they can't help it.. with the stomachs packed that full it just forces its self out.. you see some people covering there mouths with there hands after they eat so you don't see the vomit.. but damn, i don't think i could handle even 10-15 hotdogs.. wow

He wasn't going to compete this year due to some mouth problems he was having, but decided to compete with all the hype that people were throwing out with this new cat and the new record. He had a nice run of 6 years, time to let a new guy step in.
