hard brake pedal after z32 upgrade

i upgraded to 300zx front brakes, mastercylinder, drilled/slotted rotors, and stainless lines front and rear. I have a pretty hard pedal now, just fine for normal driving, but i have to pretty much 2foot the dang thing to really stop well. I think the car stopped better on the stockers I've had the stainless lines on the stock brakes for a while so i'm used to the frim pedal from that, but this is different.

I've tried searching but only found problems for 'soft' pedal stuff.

has anyone else had this problem?

Check that you're getting vacuum to the brake booster, and check the brake booster as well.

I am having the same problem. We did front and rear z32 with a 17/16 tokico bmc. I also rebuilt the front and rears. We think maybe the mc is bad or we fucked up on the furel nut for the middle one. The pedal only goes down like 2 inches and doesn't really stop the car too well. We did the booster test of where we press on the pedal acouple of times and then hold it. Then we started the car and it lowered. I can however still lock them up if I press down really hard. I ordered a nabco bmc for non abs so hopefully this solves the problem. If that doesn't solve the problem, then I might hook up gauges to each caliper and see how much pressure it is getting.

Hard brake pedals are usually a bad brake booster.

booster is fine, there is a large difference when vacuum is there. I also replaced the checkvalve to the booster, but it didn't help any.

the pedal is so dang hard, i can't lock the brakes....even with 2 feet!!!

i'm beginning to think that it might be the master cylinder. it is a reman piece from Advance auto parts, since the one a got from the donor car had a leaky rear seal. I just wonder if it is a defective one since it is a reman.
