Audiophiles Unite! Help me with my S13 Sound.

I'm looking for the best speakers that i could order from Crutchfield that will put out the most low end bass and least amount of distortion but will still fit in the factory locations in my '93 S13 Hatch.

I understand the space available isn't enough to let me get real nice lows, but i've had bad experiences before where i have had no low end at all and little if any mid range either.

Would it be a good idea to get an amp to power the speakers?
