The official name is still unknown, but a lot of reporters are dubbing it "Lancer Ralliart". It's pretty much a dulled down EVO or an AWD Lancer with a bump in HP due to a turbocharger. Either way, I like it and Subaru is going to be hurting big time since I personally don't like the styling of the new Impreza.

Not a fan of the styling for either, personally.

I'm content building my 240, so therefore I'm not in the market for a "fun car".

I guess I'm not really their market. So ignore my opinion.

If it was strait up given to me, I'd drive it. But between that, and the WRX (not STI), Id have to go with the subaru...

Then again, im going to be in the market for a car by the time all these cars are supposed to come out. If I decide to get a awd turbo'd import over the Dodge Demon (if it comes out), then I'll def have to check that out.

I have an lancer ralliart. The little mivec engine in it is pretty neat. Only problem is that it needs another gear. Im cruising at 3k around 65mph...

i LOVE the new wrx. love how its a hatch now. i would roll one in a second. i also have a thing against shitsubishi. i cant get down with their cars, reguardless of how popular/great they are.

I know the new Evo will weigh roughly 300lbs more than the STI so if that logic holds for the new Raliart and it is in fact awd then my vote goes to Subaru.

Raliart = WRX
EVO = STI

i don't this this car is much of a threat to the suby community

i think most suby drivers are gauging interest on the evo x and how well it well it will hold up to the new imprezas

as a suby driver i can say im not pleased with the design of the 08's as of now but cars do tend to grow on people (like the bugeye) i'm going to go drive one next week at the "drive the legend event"
and i'll make my decesions on the new additions to the impreza like a bigger timc and advanced VVT on the boxer

i still wish we could have gotten the 2.0ltr engine from japan as well as the VLSD

but i guess we all just have to wait and see til' the 08 STI trims come out

wrx = sti - 2 diffs - HP - wheels - exterior - suspension - 6spd tranny

baby evo , just take the fancy diffs and electronics out, smaller turbo, crappier wheels and aero, no fancy DSG gearbox, less aggressive suspension, lower price

thats pretty much the formula for makin this thing i guess

its easier to sell cheaper cars than more expensive ones

the WRX occupies a spot in the market place ($23-26k AWD turbo sedan) that Mitsubishi has no real presence in. Now they want a chunk of that market

I think both the WRX and, especially the new Lancer, are as ugly as ass. I'd never buy one.

Subaru and Mitsubishi haven't made a car I really liked yet. haha.
