Ok, well I've installed a Centerforce stage 2 for fun.It was fine for 2 days, but now something is making a noise towards the front of my tranny. It only does it on deceleration, and revving down.

At first, I though it was my exhaust hitting the chassis due to my new solid subframe bushings changing the location of the exhaust a bit, but upon further inspection, I realized that it's coming from the rear of the motor / tranny.

The best way I can describe the noise is kinda of like a rod knock. I can also feel the vibration through the clutch pedal when it's making the noise.

I'll have a video up in a few minutes, any help is greatly appreciated.

Someone said loose flywheel? I hope not.

I had to take it off to remove a snapped PP bolt, and when I put it on, I only torqued it by hand. fuck.

Even though it is hard work, you had better just take the tranny back off and make sure everything is ok. Unless of course you forgot to bolt the transmission mounts on tight.

Almost definitely a loose flywheel, sorry Matt.

Those flywheel bolts need 110ft-lbs. Get a special "flywheel bolt socket" basically a multi-star 14mm socket, and a 18" breaker bar, and do it right.

Whenever you do a clutch job, the reason for the tq specs is so that at the speed it rotates that nothing comes loose.
Its always good to check and double check the tq on the bolts.

Make sure that the pressure plate bolts are tqed down
the actual flywheel itself is tqed down, and heaven forbid you snap a flywheel bolt.

In my experience, OEM flywheel bolts are a hard enough material that if they snap, they can be EZ-out'd. Only once did I have to weld a small nut on there to get one out (but that one just had a cracked head, didn't break below the head like most of them that snap half way down the shaft).

Let us know what you find when you crack that tranny open.

are you sure its not the tranny mount? or your driveshaft? ive never heard a throwout bearing or a clutch make that noise.

something is loose.

I did not have a sounds like that, but I was on the highway. I had my flywheel bolts come loose on my car. Me and my dad were both 95% sure that my motor was toast.

I would start taking stuff apart if I was you.
