I have heard of this happening with lots of manual boost controllers never got a good explaination on why it happens and how to stop it. But most quality non "fuzzy logic" boost controllers should reduce any spiking to almost never and improve spool up and response.  I will be using the Blitz SBC-iD for my upcoming swap.
good luck.

boost controller spiking

I have installed MBCs on stock SRs and they alll seem to have boost spike. Once it was set at .7 bar and it would spike to .9 bar then lower to .7 bar. It seems weird but never got a real answer to it.

Yeah, you should really look into an electronic boost controller. My MBC always spiked and my old school ProfecB, while not the most consistent, doesn't spike at all.
