You think the 4.10 gears are worth the extra $$. If not what LSD would you recommend, and does it matter what engine is in the car? I would think it didn't since all it really cares about is the driveshaft.

I don't know how much nismo charges but I'm guessing its cheaper to get the lsd out of a 300ZXTT or Infinity J30. Same gearing and alot cheaper i would assume.

isnt the gearing form the J30 a 3.96? lower than our factory 4.08. I have the 4.36 in my car and it makes a heck of a difference. speed limiter cuts in a heck of a lot sooner too though... still gotta take care of that. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=' ![]()

so with the shorter gearing it makes a higher top end and lower acceleration? I'm doing a search on google for a better explanation of this, sorry for asking the stupd questions.
edit: did some research, but does anyone have the gear ratios for the J30? i'd like to figure out the top speed in each gear,

alright, that helps alot.
so the numerically lower gear set which keeps you in the turbo efficiency range is generally preferred for the auto-x aspect of it? (or is my understanding skewed?)

Now a full out race track is another story. I know already that I'll wish I at least still had the original gear set in the car for my next track day (i havent been on one since the gearset was in place) to me the added acceleration of the numerically higher gear set is great for auto X and with the increased rev range of the SR over the Ka it workd just dandy. again this is all my personal preference/views.

are the ring and pinion sets bolt on? or do they require modification i see the 4.63 set for $500.... will that bold right in? 4.63 gears
oh and these might be dumb questions, but do u have to have lsd for the gears? and does it matter if u have an automatic? |

hmmm not sure as I said mine was already installed. Replacing stuff in that pumpkin isnt a DIY job if you dont know what your doing. The auto shouldnt be a problem far as I know my best advice would be to call courtesy aand ask them on most of that.

not a prob. iirc from talking to the only other person I know with the set everything comes with it. and he swears it made more of seat of the pants difference than his xs turbo kit <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=' ![]()
