Alright, ive read just about everything there is on these forums and others.

I have a 91 dohc with 112k on it

when the car is at idle, i have a marbly sound near the front of the engine, im assuming this is a timing chain issue.  I removed my top chain guide hopin to solve the problem.  But it didnt help

U can hear it most clearly at idle, but when u listen to the motor and hit the throttle, u can still here it, just not as easily cause of more noise obviously.

Now, my question is: are my next options where its gonna get pricey, should i purchase one of those timing chain kits off say courtesy nissan and will that solve my problem besides the work involved in doin that, or is there somethng else i can do that will help my problem.  Ne advice or knowledge that neone has would be greatly appreciated, im tired of hearin that, makes the motor sound like crap and makes me uneasy.

the motor is fine, mine used to do that so bad my top guide actully broke off and was flippin around on the chain wearing a hole in the valve cover. i drove mine with a rattle forlike 2 years. dont stress its a 240 problem that is inevitable

Alright, so nothing i can do really eh?, well just a lil more info about it, it doesnt happen when teh car is started, like a cold start, and when u rev it up when the idle hasnt dropped yet, but once the car is warmed up and the idle has settled to 700, than it starts and it can be heard through the revs

ah well, still if ne one else has more info id like to hear &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'>

my engine had a similar rattle until i replaced the timing chain, bought a kit from the stealership, now the only noise i get is from the airplane propeller that nissan calls a fan, cant wait for my electric one to get here..
