yup. main thing to look for are the lobes on cylinder #1 facing the outside of the head and the lobes on #4 facing in. no one cares about 2 and 3 haha. close her up!.

I wasn't sure because all the pics I've seen look like this
![]() The little key section on my exhaust cam shaft is closer to 1 o'clock than 12. I figured they were all the same but I guess not ![]() Thanks for the quick reply.

o no worries, youre looking for the dimples on the cam gear to line up as they are in the pic. notice on the colored chain link. you can double check by sticking like a long extension down the spark plug hole of #1 and make turn the crank pulley a little bit to see if it's at the highest point. also, checking to see that the cam lobes of #1 are facing outward.

Ok i dont wanna ruin ur fun but im almost 100% sure this is wrong. I hate timing. Broke my intake cam that way. You cant be 100% sure unless u take the top of the front cover off and check where ur crank is. I rmember going clockwise from the gear coming from the crank that its 9 teeth from the lower gear mark to the intake cam mark, then 6 teeth from the intake cam to the exhaust cam mark, and then 6 teeth from the exhaust cam to the lower crank gear mark. The 9 teeth gap is the side touching the hydralic tensioner. Once set turn the engine with a big socket clockwise from the crank pulley and make sure the engine spins freely. Make sure the spark plugs are out or atleast loosened.

Look at the second pic u posted. u can see the 2 marks on the chain. one is lighter. Move the 6 teeth like i said to the left and u see another one but that one is darker. Those 2 marks should be on the cam gear marks. The third mark on the chain is also darker and that should match the mark on the lower gear.
